Praying to Awliyas
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
going to awliyaas
and asking them to pray for us,(ive heard that Allah says in the Quran "i
become their hands,i become their feet,i become their eyes,i become their nose
n so on")which means thr r people in whom Allah becomes so..we cant deny
that fact can we? wen Allah says he becomes so in believers they can see the
angels(because Allah can c them),prophets etc whatever Allah can c. Is this
Quran saying true.If so give ur explanation.becos nowadays people dont believe
in all this but it has been thr for such a long time since those 3 generations
after Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) and its only a 100 yrs that new changes have come
like saying not to do most of the things which has been done those times.Isnt
this a bid`ah than to say those followed in those times were Bid`ah?

Answer:
Praying to Awliyas
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,
no grave, no prophet, no
imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness
that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: going to awliyaas and asking them to pray
for us,(ive heard that Allah says in the Quran "i become their hands,i
become their feet,i become their eyes,i become their nose n so on")which
means thr r people in whom Allah becomes so..we cant deny that fact can we? wen Allah says he becomes so in believers
they can see the angels(because Allah can c them),prophets etc whatever Allah
can c. Is this Quran saying true.
There is no such Aayah in the
Glorious Quran where it says that Allah becomes the hands of the
‘Awliyaas’, or their feet, or their eyes, or their nose, and so on!
Neither is there any Aayah which declares that they can see the
angels, or the (dead) Prophets, or whatever Allah can see!!!!
But there is an Aayah which
states this:
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verses 102-106:
102 Do the Unbelievers think that they can take My
servants as AWLIYAAS besides Me?
Verily! We have prepared Hell
for the Unbelievers for (their) entertainment.
103 Say: "Shall we tell you of those who lose
most in respect of their deeds?
104 "Those whose efforts have been wasted in
this life, while they thought that they
were acquiring good by their works?"
105 They are those who deny the Signs of their
Lord, and the fact of their having to
meet Him (in the Hereafter). Vain will
be their works, nor shall We on the Day
of Judgment, give them any Weight.
That is their reward: Hell! Because they
rejected Faith, and took My Signs and
My Messengers by way of jest.
Your Question: becos nowadays people dont believe in all
this but it has been thr for such a long time since those 3 generations after
Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) and its only a 100 yrs that new changes have come like
saying not to do most of the things which has been done those times.
It has indeed always happened
that when some true and pious servant of Allah Subhanah died, some people declared him after his death as
a ‘Wali’(plural Awliya) from
themselves, and shared some of Allah
Rights and Attributes with this departed person! Some made images and worshipped them, some made idols and invoked them, and some turned their graves into places of worship and
invocations!
Allah Alone is All-Hearing; but some ignorant people shared this Noble
Attribute of Allah with their Awliyaas and declared them to be all-hearing
too!
Similarly, Allah Alone is All-Seeing; but some ignorant people shared this Noble
Attribute of Allah with their Awliyaas and declared them to be all-seeing too!
This is precisely what has been
termed ‘shirk’ in the Glorious Quran!
It is absolutely untrue and
un-imaginable that the true believers in first three generations after the
death of Prophet Mohamed (saws), or
even in today’s day and age; would ever
dare to share any of Allah’s Attributes and Rights with anyone or anything
else! If they did so, they would indeed be guilty of the heinous
and unforgivable sin of ‘shirk’ or associating someone with Allah Subhanah!
Your Question: Isnt
this a bid`ah than to say those followed in those times were Bid`ah?
Beloved Sister, you have not specified what exactly the true
believers in the first three generations after the death of Prophet Mohamed
(saws) used to do, which you claim some
people call ‘bidah’ today!
If you can specify exactly these
acts were, or (in your words) ‘ most of the things which has been done those
times’ , we will be glad to guide you
from the Quran and Sunnah.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
