Answer:
Selling shaving
material lawful
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
If any product has a ‘dual’ (haraam and/or halaal) usage,
the absolute majority of the scholars are of the opinion that the manufacturing
or trading of that product is absolutely lawful unto the believers….it is the
one who uses the product for unlawful purposes who alone will be responsible
for his transgression.
For example a drinking utensil or a ‘glass’ can be used to
drink ‘zam-zam’, or one may use it to consume alcohol…..or one may use a
‘knife’ to slaughter lawful animals, while another may chose to slaughter swine
or even use it as a weapon to murder other human beings….or one may use a
‘tape-recorder’ or ‘cd-player’ to hear the recitation of the Glorious Quran,
while another may chose to listen to conventional ‘music’! etc. The manufacturers or the traders of such
‘dual’ usage products are not at all responsible if one chooses to transgress the
prescribed boundaries of Allah and commit evil.
Thus brother if you earn your livelihood by selling
shaving products, creams, or blades, etc….rest absolutely assured that your
earnings are lawful and you will not be held responsible regarding how your
customers choose to use your products.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
