Asalamwalaikum Burhan bhai. I would like o congratulate U on having a brilliant site for Muslims to be able to get answers to their questions. Well, there are many questions I would like to ask, but right now all I wanted to know was the meaning on my name, which is Batul, and the meaning of my hubands name, Murtaza. And wat is the rt spelling of his name? Is it Murtaza or Murtuza. Thanx

Meaning of Batul & Murtaza

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Batool is not an Arabic term, but rather a Farsi or Iranian term; and I have to admit that I don’t know Farsi language fluently. I will refer to a Farsi dictionary, and Insha Allah, will revert back to you.

The correct spelling of your husband’s name is ‘Murtadha’, and it means something or someone that is liked.
