It is permissible to pay zakaah from something other than the saved money?

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
As-Salaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Must zakaah be paid from the money that is stored after the year has passed, or can zakaah be paid from other income?.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

Whoever has wealth on which zakaah must be paid does not have to pay it from the stored wealth itself, rather he can pay it from other wealth.

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrated in al-Majmoo’ (5/346) that the scholars were unanimously agreed that it is permissible to pay zakaah from wealth other than the wealth on which it is due.

And Allaah knows best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
