Assalamu `alaycom warahmatullahi wa baraqaatuhu...

Im working in one of the business office, my direct manager want my performance in performing my job, our office time is from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 13:00 pm to 18:00 pm (10 hrs), my direct manager give me 2 hours overtime everyday, while i`m not actually working on it (from 18:00 to 20:00 = 2 hrs daily) which is not known by the owner of the company. My question "IS THE TWO HOURS DAILY GIVEN TO ME BY MY DIRECT MANAGER IS HALAL TO ME?

Overtime not worked

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

If you are not actually working the extra two hours for which you are being paid as ‘extra time’, regardless of whoever sanctions it, it will be considered a lie and a fraud in the Sight of Allah Subhanah, and that ‘extra’ earning will be absolutely unlawful.

If indeed you fear Allah and the Last Day, you should neither be a conspirator nor a beneficiary of such a fraudulent and unlawful practice.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
