What is the concept of Tuesday in our life.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalam-o-Alaikum

Burhan Bhai,

I want to ask that

1- what is the concept of Tuesday in our life. Because one of my friend nearly got engaged but they stuck and to argue that the day of Tuesday is not good for these thing means engagment or wedding.

2- Me and my friend is going to married in one family. Means my fiancee and my friend`s fiancee are sisters. But now we got confusion that her father is saying that the nikkah is not suitable for both on the same day. The problem is that her/fiancee`s father follows his elders(Bazurg).

Please clear that matters by proof to me so I be able to tell them.

With Regards

Answer:

Tuesday and superstitions

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, believe with absolute and total faith and conviction that absolutely nothing, and we reiterate absolutely nothing and no one in creation has the power to bring about even an iota of good or bad luck or good or bad omens in the ‘unseen’ ….. for it is Allah Subhanah Alone Who has the Power and Strength to bring about any condition upon anyone He Wills and Pleases.

Allah Says in His Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 2:

2 What Allah out of His Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold there is none can grant apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power Full of Wisdom.

The time of the day or night, the day of the week, the marriage of two sisters on the same day, the crying of the cat, or the braying of the donkey, or the roar of the lion, or the passing of a cat, or sneezing, or the movement or sound of anyone or anything by itself, etc. etc. does not bring about any good or bad in the ‘unseen’ in the least …..these are just absolutely and totally baseless fears and superstitions which have been created and invented by the ignorant, for they have absolutely no basis to the truth or reality!

Believe with total and absolutely conviction that absolutely everything, and we reiterate absolutely everything that happens in the Universe happens with the Precise Will, Permission and Knowledge and according to the Perfect Plan and Decree of Allah Subhanah Alone! No time, no day, no number, no cat, no dog, no donkey, no bird, nor the movement of the sun, nor the moon, nor the stars, nor absolutely anyone or anything in creation has the power to bring about any good or evil upon someone in the ‘unseen’!!!!! These are just baseless fears and superstitions and shackles which the ignorant have bound themselves with…..they have absolutely no relation to the Truth or Reality!

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3901 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘Taking omens is polytheism (shirk); taking omens is polytheism. taking omens is polytheism’ He (saws) said it three times.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.479 Narrated by Ibn Abbas

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "Seventy thousand people of my followers will enter Paradise without accounts, and they are those who do not practice Ar-Ruqya (spells, charms, etc.) and do not see an evil omen in things, and they put their full trust in their Lord.’

Your Question: Please clear that matters by proof to me so I be able to tell them.

Dear and beloved brother, the onus of providing the evidence should always be asked from the person who makes a particular claim! The people who believe that a day of the week like Tuesday is a bad omen or it brings bad luck, or that the marriage of two sisters on the same day is an evil omen or it brings bad luck, etc……these people should be asked to provide the evidence and proof for their claims from the Quran and the Sunnah, if indeed they are truthful!!!

Your Statement: The problem is that her/fiancee`s father follows his elders(Bazurg).

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 170-171:

When it is said to them, “Follow the Commands that Allah has sent down”, they reply, “We will follow only what we found our forefathers practicing.” Well, will they go on following their forefathers even though they did not use common sense and did not find the Right Way! The mental condition of those who rejected the way of Allah may be likened to that of the cattle whom the shepherd calls but they hear nothing except the sound of shouts and cries. They are deaf, they are dumb, they are blind; therefore they do not understand anything.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 31 Surah Luqman verse 21:

And when it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has sent down”, they say, “We shall only follow that upon which we found our forefathers.” What! Will they still be following them even if Shaitaan had been calling them to the raging Fire?

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3696 Narrated by An-Nawwas ibn Sam'an

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the Creator."

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
