Masturbation after marriage
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's
Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
aslamualaikum,
i would be thankful if you answer my following question,
Q1:masturbation for a men after his marriage is not a sin?
(There
may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum
does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from

Answer:
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
The acts
that Allah and His Messenger have forbidden in a sexual relationship between
husband and wife are:
Anal sex.
Having
sexual intercourse with the woman during her menses.
Some
scholars have also voiced their opinion against touching either of the
partner’s sex organs with the mouth. But
because nothing is mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah about this particular act, the scholars have not said it is forbidden…
The most they have said is that this act is closer to the forbidden than to the
permissible; and thus one should fear
Allah Subhanah and stay away from this act as it is considered impure, unclean and unhealthy.
The act
of masturbation is when a man alone,
without his wife, either through
fantasizing, or with the help of vulgar
and evil books, magazines, movies, etc. rubs his private parts with his
hands until he reaches the state of ejaculation. This solo act is completely forbidden in
Islam, whether the man is married or not.
The Messenger of Allah (saws) was asked about the limits of
physical relationship a husband could enjoy with his wife during her
menstruation, and he (saws) replied, "Do everything except
intercourse."
Related by Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ahmad, Abu Dawood.
Masruq ibn al-Ajda' asked 'Aishah, "What is off limits to me
sexually during my wife's menstruation?"
She said, "Nothing, except the vagina."
Related by Bukhari.
Its
obvious that most normal men would not masturbate with their wives, when he is allowed to have actual sexual
intercourse with her. It is only when
he is not permitted to have actual intercourse with his wife, due to her menses, or post-child birth period, or for any medical reason, etc., where a normal person would take this route
of enjoying everything with his wife except actual intercourse. If the person ejaculates while enjoying a
physical relationship with his wife, it would be considered perfectly legal and
permissible in Islam.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
