Geebat to Syedna

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

The true muslim is the one who helps people in despair by financial help and by personal help. This is hardly done by very few muslims. I would suggest your efforts should be more channalised to help humanity rather than backbiting syedna. Gheebat to any body is bad and to Syedna is worst.

Answer:

Geebat to Syedna

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and who-ever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

One who is blessed from the Bounties of Allah, and is a true believer, knows that in the wealth bestowed on him from Allah, there is a share for the poor and indigent of society. And many a true believer have started institutions and ‘waqfs’ and channel their efforts in the service of humanity and muslims for the Pleasure of Allah.

One of the biggest services in Islam is to show or direct mankind to the Way of Allah and save them from the impending and ever lasting Fire of Hell.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 185: Every being shall taste death, and all of you shall get your full recompense on the Day of Resurrection. Then only that one will be truly successful who escapes the Hell Fire, and is admitted to the Gardens of Paradise. As regards the life of this world, it is merely a thing that deceives.

All the Messengers sent by Allah Subhanah spent their lives inviting mankind to save themselves from the Fire of Hell. Their main mission was to warn the disbelievers and mushriks to leave their self-made deities alone, and come to the worship and invocation of their Lord and Creator, Allah Subhanah Alone.

There is no Messenger after the Last Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws), and Allah has made it the duty of every true believer to carry forward this mission of the Messengers, and invite mankind to the worship and invocation of the One Lord Alone.

Allah says in the Holy Quran: Chapter 16, Surah An-Nahl Ayat 125: Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and excellent admonition and argue with people in the best manner. Your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Way and who is Rightly guided.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 110: You (muslims) are the best community which has been raised for the guidance of mankind. You enjoin what is right, and forbid what is evil and you all believe in Allah Alone.

Thus our only mission and motive is to invite mankind to leave alone their self-created deities, and come to the Way of Allah. What we are trying to do is invite our brethren to read and understand the Holy Quran and formulate their way to the Siraat al Mustaqeem (Straight Path of Islam). To proclaim the Truth, and to say that something is against the clear guidance of the Holy Quran and Sunnah is not ‘geebat’ of anyone! If this was ‘geebat’, then (Allah forbid), the Messengers of Allah were all involved in ‘geebat’!

And if some ‘taghut’ is wearing the garb of Islam and inviting his followers to commit ‘shirk’ and thus the Hell Fire, it becomes the duty of the true believers to make the people aware of their impending future in light of the Holy Quran.

Our duty is only to invite to the Truth of the Glorious Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws). We do not, and cannot force anyone to follow the Path of Islam. Whoever wants to use his commonsense, understand the clear guidance of the Quran, and save himself from the Fire of Hell should do so. Whoever wants to reject the invitation to the Glorious Quran, should prepare himself for an Inevitable Day, where only the promises made by Allah and His Messenger (saws) will come true. All the promises made by their self-made deities and ‘taghuts’ will be declared as falsehood, and they will have nothing and no one to blame except themselves.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anam verses 81-82: And there is no reason why I should fear those beings you associate with Allah, when you are not afraid of setting up partners with Allah without any authority. Then tell me, which of the two parties merits peace and freedom from fear? It is those who believe and do not confuse their faith with ‘shirk’, that are truly in security, and they are the ones who are rightly guided.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

May Allah guide you and us all to the Straight Path of Islam.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
