I would like to understand the purpose of we (muslims) being sent to this world???

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear brother in Islam,

I would like to understand the purpose of we (muslims) being sent to this world???
Is there any specific thing Allah Subhana expect us to do??? If `Yes`, then what is that?? and how to achieve it???

Please advise, as I strongly believe that this world is not just a farce... we all have obligations towards Deen and Duniya. I dont want to fall astray.. The utmost important thing for me is to achieve `Raza` of Allah Subhana.. But am confused and restless most of the times.. Not able to understand how to lead a quality and constructive life... Please help.

Jazakallah.

Answer:

What is purpose of creation

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 16:

16 Not for (idle) sport did We create the heavens and the earth and all that is between!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 44 Surah Dukkhaan verses 38-39:

38 We created not the heavens the earth and all between them merely in (idle) sport:

39 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 30 Surah Rome verse 8:

8 Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but for just ends and for a term appointed did Allah create the heavens and the earth and all between them: yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection)!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 45 Surah Jathiyaa verse 22:

22 Allah created the heavens and the earth for just ends and in order that each soul may find the recompense of what it has earned and none of them be wronged.

Your Question: I would like to understand the purpose of we (muslims) being sent to this world??? Is there any specific thing Allah Subhana expect us to do??? If `Yes`, then what is that?? and how to achieve it???

The All-Wise, All-Knowing Lord Who Created has described the mission and the reason for the creation of man in one categorical statement in His Glorious Quran:

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 51 Surah Dhariyaat verse 56:

56 I have not created jinns and men except that they may worship (serve and obey) Me.

The All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord bestowed two things upon His best creation (ie. mankind) which He did not bestow upon any in His Supreme Creation, and thus put mankind to a test:

  1. Intelligence or the Power of Reasoning
  2. A ‘free will’ for a limited period of one life-time to choose whatever path one wishes to live his life.

Whoever amongst man studies and ponders over the innumerable wonders and Signs in the various creations of the Majestic Lord, and uses his bestowed intelligence and power of reasoning to understand his mission of creation, recognize His Supreme Lord and Creator, and of his own ‘free will’ chooses to unconditionally submit his will to the Will of his Creator, and chooses to live his life in accordance with the guidance of his Creator, passes the test of life and is promised the Eternal Mercy, Grace, and Rewards of Allah Subhanah.

And whoever amongst man uses his bestowed intelligence and power of reasoning to do everything else but does not recognize or denies his Supreme Creator, refuses to unconditionally submit his will to the Will of His Creator, and of his own ‘free will’ chooses to live his life in accordance with any guidance other than that of His Supreme Creator, miserably fails the test of life and will have a severe accounting in the Presence of the All-Mighty and Majestic Lord on an Inevitable Day.

Your Question: ….and how to achieve it???

Respected brother in Islam, the one and only way for man to fulfill the reason and mission of his creation is to unconditionally submit his ‘will’ to the Will of His Creator….and what exactly is the Will of the Lord Creator Most Supreme Most Majestic is described in absolute detail in the Glorious Book of Guidance which the Lord Most Majestic has Himself revealed for the guidance of all mankind!

He who unconditionally accepts, believes, submits, and aligns his every act and his every word and deed to the guidance of the Glorious Quran achieves the mission he was created for; and he who denies and aligns his beliefs and his actions and his deeds to any other guidance other than the guidance of the Glorious Quran miserably fails in his prescribed mission.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
