What was prophet`s saying based on Abu Talib and Abu Lahab (both non muslims, but one helped prophet and the other did maximum cruelties to prophet?)

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

My question is: A non-muslim irrespective of his acts will be punished equally by Almighty God?

Like a non-muslim who helps others, does good donations to poor people etc will be punised like others (eg Gujarath CM) who kill muslims or other innocent people? What was prophet`s saying based on Abu Talib and Abu Lahab (both non muslims, but one helped prophet and the other did maximum cruelties to prophet?)

Answer:

Ranks grades in Hell Fire

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 21:

21 See how We have bestowed (in the life of this world) more on some than on others; but verily the Hereafter is more in rank and gradation and more in excellence.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 5.318 Narrated by Anas

Haritha was martyred on the day (of the battle) of Badr, and he was a young boy then. His mother came to the Prophet (saws) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (saws)! You know how dear Haritha is to me. If he is in Paradise, I shall remain patient, and hope for reward from Allah, but if it is not so, then you shall see what I do?" He (saws) said, "May Allah be merciful to you! Have you lost your senses? Do you think there is only one Paradise? There are many Paradises and your son is in the (most superior) Paradise of Al-Firdaus."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.48 Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger (saws), offers prayer perfectly, and fasts the month of Ramadan will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah's Cause or remains in the land where he is born." The people said, "O Allah's Messenger (saws)! Shall we acquaint the people with this good news?" He (saws) said, "Paradise has one-hundred grades which Allah has reserved for the mujahidin who fight in His Cause, and the distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the Heavens and the earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for Al-Firdaus which is the best and highest part of Paradise." (i.e., The sub-narrator added, "I think the Prophet (saws) also said, 'Above it (i.e. Al-Firdaus) is the Throne of the Beneficent (i.e. Allah), and from it originates the Rivers of Paradise.")

Allah Subhanah and His Messenger (saws) have guided the believers that just as there are several grades in Paradise, Hell Fire too has several grades and ranks and each amongst the dwellers of Hell Fire will be accorded the grade and torment according to their level of transgression.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 145:

145 The hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire: no helper wilt thou find for them.

Your Question: A non-muslim irrespective of his acts will be punished equally by Almighty God? Like a non-muslim who helps others, does good donations to poor people etc will be punised like others (eg Gujarath CM) who kill muslims or other innocent people?

‘Treason’ against a sovereign nation or country is considered the absolute highest and unforgivable crime in the courts of law in this world; regardless of how many good deeds a citizen of a nation might have done in one’s past, if one is found guilty of the abomination of ‘treason’, all his goods deeds will be rendered vain and that person will be condemned to the absolute highest penalty the law might provide.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 31 Surah Luqmaan verse 13:

13 Behold Luqman said to his son by way of instruction: "O my son! Join not in worship (others) with Allah: for ‘shirk’ (associating gods with Allah) is indeed the ‘Dhulm-un-Adheem’ (the absolute highest wrong-doing)"

Similarly, the abomination of ‘shirk’ or associating other deities with Allah Subhanah in worship is the absolute highest crime of ‘treason’ one commits in the Sight of their Lord Creator; and absolutely regardless of the deeds this ‘traitor’ unto Allah Subhanah might have done, all their deeds will be rendered vain and fruitless in the Court of Allah Subhanah.

Allah says in the Quran: Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa Verse 48

Shirk (associating other deities with Allah) is the only sin that Allah does not forgive, and He forgives, whomsoever He pleases, sins other than this, for whosoever associates any other partner with Allah, does indeed forge a big lie and commits the most heinous sin.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 65-66:

If you commit ‘shirk’ all your (good) works will be rendered vain and you will be among the losers. Therefore, you should worship Allah Alone, and be among His grateful servants.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 47 Surah Mohammed verses 8-9:

8 But those who reject (Allah) for them is destruction and (Allah) will render their (good) deeds astray (from their mark).

9 That is because they hate the Revelations of Allah; so He has made their ‘good’ deeds fruitless.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 47 Surah Mohammed verse 32:

32 Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger after guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least but He will make their (good) deeds of no effect.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 25 Surah Furqaan verse 23:

23 And We shall turn to whatever (good) deeds they (the disbelievers) did (in this life) and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about!

All the supposed ‘good’ deeds of a disbeliever will be absolutely worthless in the Sight of Allah Subhanah for it is only obvious that one who denies their Lord Creator could not possibly have done any deeds to earn the Pleasure of their Creator! But if this disbeliever did evil deeds in addition to the abomination of ‘shirk’ and disbelief, without an iota of a doubt, the person will be requited in full for all those evil deeds according to its gradation!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 99 Surah Zalzalah verses 6-8:

6 On that Day (of Judgement) will men proceed in companies sorted out to be shown the deeds that they (had done).

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 28 Surah Qasas verses 83-84:

83 That House of the Hereafter We shall give to those who intend not high-handedness nor mischief on earth: and the End is (best) for the righteous.

84 If any does good the reward to him is better than his deed; but if any does evil the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds.

Beloved brother in Islam, in light of the above guidance of the Glorious Quran, because both types of people mentioned in your question committed ‘shirk’ and disbelief, both will be punished appropriately for their ‘treason’ against Allah Subhanah…….but if in addition to the abomination of ‘shirk’ one was guilty of being the foremost against Allah, His Messenger (saws), and the Cause of Islam, or one was guilty of murdering believers only because of their faith in Allah, etc……it is only obvious that this person will receive a much much harsher penalty for his crimes in addition to the penalty for his abomination of ‘shirk’ and disbelief.

Your Question: What was prophet`s saying based on Abu Talib and Abu Lahab (both non muslims, but one helped prophet and the other did maximum cruelties to prophet?)

The fate of the evil and accursed Abu-Lahab is Decreed by The Lord Most Majestic in His Glorious Quran:

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 111 Surah Al-Lahab verses 1-5:

1 Perish the hands of ‘Abu-Lahab’ (the Father of Flame)! Perish he!

2 No profit to him from all his wealth and all his gains!

3 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of blazing Flame!

4 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood as fuel!

5 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!

Sahih Muslim Hadith 413 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

The Prophet of Allah (saws) said: ‘Among the inhabitants of the Hell Fire, Abu Talib would have the least suffering; and he would be wearing two shoes (of Fire) which would boil his brain!’

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
