Answer:

Why poverty comes

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 63 Surah Munafiquoon verse 7 (part)

…. to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verses 59:

59 With Him (Allah) are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He.

Allah Subhanah is the Lord and Creator of absolutely everything in the heavens and the earth. He Alone is the Lord and Master and Absolute Owner of everything that exists in existence; and contrary to the popular belief of the ignorant, one does not generate wealth by themselves, but it is Allah Subhanah who has in His Wisdom determined and decreed the exact amount of wealth which He Alone distributes and allocates to each amongst His creation so that He may see who amongst man is grateful for the favors and bounties of their Lord and who amongst man is arrogant and ungrateful for the favors of their Lord.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 6392 Narrated by Hudhayfah ibn Usayd

The Prophet (saws) said: “When the drop of (semen) remains in the womb for forty (days) or forty nights, the angel comes and says: “My Lord, will he be good or evil?” And both these things would be written. Then the angel says: “My Lord, would he be male or female?” And both these things are written. And his deeds and actions, his death, his livelihood; these are also recorded. Then his document of destiny is rolled and there is no addition to and subtraction from it.

For every single human being who is born in creation, when that being is still in the womb of his mother, Allah Subhanah Alone Decrees and Determines exactly how much wealth He will bestow upon that individual! Nothing, and we reiterate absolutely nothing the person does, regardless of row smart he grows up to, regardless of how hard that person strives to earn wealth and riches, regardless of whatever that person does….that will not bung even a penny more or less than what Allah Subhanah has Decreed for that person when that person was still in the womb of his mother!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 26:

26 Allah doth enlarge or grant by (strict) measure the Sustenance (which He giveth) to whom so He pleaseth. (The worldly) rejoice in the life of this world: but the life of this world is but little comfort in the Hereafter.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 29 Surah Ankabut verse 62:

62 Allah enlarges the sustenance (which He gives) to whichever of His servants He pleases; and He (similarly) grants by (strict) measure (as He pleases): for Allah has full knowledge of all things.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Shura verse 12:

12 To Him belong the keys (of the treasures) of the heavens and the earth: He enlarges and restricts the Sustenance to whom He Wills: for He knows full well all things.

A rich man is not rich because of his intelligence or his abilities or because he does such and such a thing….but the one and only reason he has wealth is because Allah Subhanah has Decreed and Determined that this person be given such and such amount of wealth in the life of this world….so that Allah Subhanah may put this person to a test and see whether the person is grateful for the favors he has received from Allah….or does the person attribute the abundance of his riches to himself, his abilities, or to some other deed or deity other than Allah Subhanah.

Similarly, a poor man is not poor because of his lack of intelligence, or lacks abilities, or shuns hard work, etc….but the one and only reason the person is poor is because Allah Subhanah has Decreed and Determined that this person be given sustenance only in strict measure in the life of this short and transitory world….so that Allah Subhanah may put this person to a test and see whether the person is grateful for the favors he has received from Allah and whether or not he is patient or not in his poverty and destitute by keeping his hopes only in the Power and Strength of his Lord Creator…..or whether the person does unlawful things and deeds and steals and lies to increase his wealth, or seeks help from the self-invented false gods and deities whom he invokes to remove his poverty!

Thus my beloved brother, poverty does not come by doing or not doing a particular deed….but abundance of wealth or poverty are no more than the prescribed tests and trials which Allah Subhanah has Decreed and Bestowed upon each in His creation when they were still in their mother’s womb!

The reading of the Quran without wudu, or the eating of food without washing of one’s hands, or the eating of food without a head cover or with one’s left hand, or to leave dishes unwashed after eating, or to urinate in the bathroom (?), or go to the toilet without a head cover, or for the women to violate the ‘hijaab’, or the burning or peeling of garlic or onions, or not to help a person in trouble at night, etc……none, and we reiterate absolutely none amongst these or any other thing or deed determines the value or amount of one’s sustenance or wealth in the least!!!!!

The distribution or allocation of wealth and sustenance has got absolutely nothing to do with anyone or anything in creation….for the sustenance of each in creation is Determined and Decreed by Allah Subhanah Alone so that He may test man who amongst them are grateful and who amongst them are ungrateful.

To associate the increase or decrease in one’s wealth to anyone or anything or any deed whatsoever would be a clear manifestation of ‘shirk’….for it is Allah Subhanah Alone Who Determines and Decrees the increase or decrease of one’s wealth.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
