Answer:

Love marry convert

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: i just want to know if it is forbidden to marry a converted muslim, i am a muslim girl, and have been involoved in a relationship with a non- muslim

First and foremost sister, It is absolutely forbidden and unlawful in Islam for a woman, who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day, to form a secret or illicit relationship with a believer, leave alone a disbeliever!

It is also absolutely unlawful in Islam for a woman, who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day to marry a disbeliever; but if the disbeliever, of his own choice and without any force or coercion whatsoever chooses to revert and accept the Truth of Islam as his ‘way of life’, all the rights that are due to a believer would be made available to him in full….and it would be lawful for the revert brother to marry a believing woman, if both of them wish to do so.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 221:

221 Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters) until they believe; a slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman even though she allure you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: a man slave who believes is better than un unbeliever even though he allure you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the fire. But Allah beckons by His grace to the Garden (of Bliss) and forgiveness and makes His Signs clear to mankind: that they may celebrate His praise.

Your Question: he has always been interested in our religion and wants to convert to become a muslim

The only thing one needs to do to become a believer is declare verbally the ‘Kalimah’ or testification of faith that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah Subhanah Alone, and Mohamed (saws) is the Last and Final Messenger of Allah (saws).

My dear and beloved Sister in Islam, as your brothers and sincere well wishers in faith, it is our duty to make you aware that if you intend to marry the revert brother, make absolutely sure for yourself that the brother has reverted to Islam because he is absolutely convinced regarding the Truth of Islam…and not only to fulfill the legality of an Islamic marriage.

If the person reverts to Islam only to fulfill the legality of an Islamic marriage and not because of his conviction in the Truth of Islam….although such a marriage between a revert and a believing woman will be lawful and legal in the Sight of Shariah Law and the believers, but if Allah forbid, the brother is not sincere in his reversion to Islam, and after the marriage wishes to go back to his pagan belief and way of life, you might put yourself and your life in the Hereafter in a very severe trial indeed. Thus my beloved sister, please make absolutely sure that the brother has reverted to Islam because he is absolutely and totally convinced regarding the Truth of Islam, and not simply to fulfill the legality of marriage with a believing woman.

Your Statement: my parents well never accept it because he is "white",but i know he is a very good person, i have completly fallen in love,

Beloved sister, know and believe with absolute conviction that there is none in creation who loves you and wishes better for you than the parents who gave you birth, and raised you with love, mercy and tenderness from your infancy to your youth…..thus before you unilaterally decide on as important a choice as marriage, it would not only be prudent but wise to consult your parents and seek their approval and consent.

The color of the person’s skin is absolutely immaterial….but what your parents may fear is their daughter’s acceptance and survival in a different culture…or their fear might be that the persons reversion to Islam is only to fulfill the legality of a Shariah marriage. If with utter humility, and patience, and wisdom you can somehow convince your parents that the revert you wish to marry has indeed reverted to Islam because he totally and absolutely believes in its Truth, and you would be more than comfortable in a culture which might be different than the one who were brought up in….if you can somehow satisfy and mitigate their fears for the well-being of their beloved daughter, your parents would consent to your choice in marriage.

Your Question: i have helped him but he needs more help to convert and does not know where to go, for advice and help to convert

Beloved sister, the best thing you could do is to introduce your friend who wishes to convert to a good, righteous and pious believer ….or alternatively take your friend to the Islamic Guidance Centre or the local masjid in your community …. The brothers there would be more than happy and honored to help your friend with his reversion to Islam.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
