Answer:

Hypnotism permissible

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Contrary to popular belief and what is shamelessly propagated on television and stage programs, what is commonly known as ‘hypnotism’, whereby at the click of a finger the other person loses consciousness and his actions are controlled by another is scientifically and logically an absolute impossibility! These ‘staged’ hypnotisms are no more than a sham, con, deception and utter fraud and does not have an iota of truth in its essence.

Beloved Sister, just imagine if it were ever possible to ‘hypnotize’ and control the actions of another, the whole system, law, the test and way of life of the human being would be in utter chaos and jeopardy.

If hypnotism were possible, one could hypnotize the bank manager and take away all the cash! One could hypnotize another’s wife and have illegal sexual intercourse with her! The murderers and thieves would hypnotize the Judge and get a ruling in their favor! One could hypnotize another whom he wishes to be killed and make him commit suicide! Etc. etc. Allah is our witness sister, if such a thing as hypnotizing another was ever possible the whole system, law, test and way of life as we know it would be in utter chaos and jeopardy, and no one would or could be held responsible for actions over which they have no control!!!

Regardless of how many people believe in this imagined falsehood, regardless of how many television and stage shows are shown to convince the simpletons, regardless of how many experts call it an ‘acquired knowledge’, ‘science’, or an ‘art’; what is known popularly as ‘hypnotism’ is an absolute sham and a con, and scientifically and logically an absolute impossibility!

Because such a knowledge as hypnotism does not exist, it can neither be learnt, nor taught, nor believed, nor can it benefit or harm anyone in any way! It is an utter falsehood, and the believers, who sincerely believe in the Truth of Allah and the Last Day, must abstain from ever approaching any kind of falsehood.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
