Gusl

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

I would like to know whether the ticklish feeling of vagina is masturbation though nothing has been done by the lady to promote it or activate it, it just arises and goes.Is ghusl necessary to offer prayers after such feeling. This happens very often so should ghusl be done 5 times to offer prayers. Please reply immediately as prayers are not being offered by the lady.

Answer:

Ghusl

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

A ‘ghusl’ or full bath of purity is only necessary and obligatory if one has experienced a full ejaculation or orgasm (mani), or when the male and female sexual organs have touched each other.

If the ticklish feeling results in a few drops of liquid (madhi) coming out of the private parts, one need not take a ‘ghusl’ or full bath to purify oneself, but rather wash the private parts and do wudu and make oneself available for prayer.

Fiqh-us-Sunnah Fiqh 1.10a

Hadrat Ali ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.) said, "I used to excrete madhi, so I asked a man to ask the Messenger of Allah (saws) about it. I was shy to do so because of my position with respect to his daughter (Ali was the Prophet's son-in-law).’ The Prophet (saws) said, ‘Wash your penis, and make ablution."

Sahl ibn Hanif said, "I used to suffer from excessive amounts of madhi. I used to make lots of ghusl because of it. So I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (saws) and he said, 'It is sufficient to take a handful of water and sprinkle it over your clothes wherever the fluid appears."

Related by Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and at-Tirmidhi.

But if the ticklish feeling does not result in any emissions from the private parts, then there is absolutely no need to perform a ‘ghusl’ or full bath, or even the wudu; as the ticklish feeling itself does not negate the wudu or make it invalid in any way.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
