Answer:

The burning of torn quran

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

If one has decoration or text with the blessed Names of Allah Subhanah or His Messenger (saws) on it, or even an old and torn copy of the Holy Quran and wishes to dispose them honorable, one may do so one of three ways:

  1. Bury the item in the ground.
  2. Dispose it in the sea.
  3. Burn them.

In our humble opinion, the best and most honorable way of disposal of a torn copy of the Quran is to burn it. If one buries it in the ground or disposes it in the sea, there is a chance that it might survive and perchance someone may intentionally or unintentionally dishonor it. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Respected sister, if you chose to burn a torn copy of the Quran, you indeed chose the most honorable way to dispose it. Rest absolutely assured that the trials you might be facing are not more than a test ordained for you by your Lord and absolutely nothing to do with your act of disposing the unusable text of the Quran in the most honorable way.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
