One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Can we do umrah (not with the neeyat of HAJ) in the month of Shawaal or Dhul al Qa'dah?

Answer:

Can one do umrah in shawwal

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

To the best of our knowledge there is nothing in the Glorious Quran or the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) which prohibits the believers from performing the Umrah in the months of Shawwal or Dhul-Qadah. The believers are at absolute liberty to perform the pilgrimage of Umrah at any time of the year, including the month of Shawwal or Dhul-Qadah.
