Luck through baby, wife, house.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

ASKM Dear Brother in Islam,

One of the 6th pillar of imaan in Islam is to believe that, whatever happens, good or the bad happens by Allah's wish; and I certainly believe that.

I have heard that there is a hadith saying that a wife/new born baby-girl, house and an animal for transport can get luck or badluck. Is it a authenthic hadith. From this what I understand is:

1) if one buys a house, not the house but Allah gives luck through that house, 2) If a man marries, the lady gets luck by the will of Allah alone. Here is that lady being blessed by Allah to whome ever she marries gets luck to him, to his business. 3) Or if a family gets a baby girl, if Allah wills that baby girl will get luck to the family. Is that baby girl blessed so as to get luck to her family.

Could you please specify the Hadith and Please explain the same to exactly what the Hadith says.

Last but not the least, you doing a lovely job, may Allah have mercy on us all.

Answer:

Luck through baby, wife, house

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in His Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 2:

2 What Allah out of His Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold there is none can grant apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power Full of Wisdom.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 160:

If Allah helps you none can overcome you: if He forsakes you who is there after that that can help you? In Allah then let believers put their trust.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 51:

Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our Protector"; and on Allah let the believers put their trust.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 17:

17 If Allah touch thee with affliction none can remove it but He; if He touch thee with happiness He hath power over all things.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 3:

And put your trust in Allah Alone; and enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

Respected brother in Islam, in light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the Glorious Quran it is evident that whatever good or whatever happens on this earth, happens with the Precise Will and Permission of Allah Subhanah. If the Lord Most Merciful Wishes to bestow His Favor on anyone, there is absolutely no one or no thing which can stop that Favor reaching them from their Lord Most Gracious; and if the Lord Wills to test someone with an affliction, there is no one or no thing which by itself can remove that affliction except the Lord Most Gracious Himself.

Thus in essence, Allah Subhanah makes it absolutely clear in His Glorious Quran that there is no good or bad ‘luck’ by itself….all good and all evil that take place happen only and only with the Precise Will and Permission of the Lord Most Majestic, Most Supreme.

Your Question: ….I have heard that there is a hadith saying that a wife/new born baby-girl, house and an animal for transport can get luck or badluck. Is it a authenthic hadith. From this what I understand is:

Al-Muwatta Hadith 54.21

Malik related from Abu Hazim ibn Dinar from Sahl ibn Sad as-Saidi that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "If it exists, it is in a horse, a woman, and a house (meaning ill luck.)."

Sahih Muslim Hadith 5531 Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘If bad luck were to be in anything, it is found in the land, in the servant and in the horse.’

Respected brother in Islam, although there are a few narrations attributed to the Messenger of Allah (saws) regarding some things in creation which bring about ‘bad luck’….because the ‘matan’ or the ‘substance matter’ of those narrations are clearly against the Guidance of the Glorious Quran, the absolute majority of the scholars in Islam have not accepted these narrations as authentic…..for it is absolutely and categorically inconceivable that the Messenger of Allah (saws) would ever say anything which is incompatible with the Guidance of the Glorious Quran.

Rest absolutely assured brother that no house, nor horse, no woman, no nothing in creation by themselves can bring about any good or bad luck…..all good and all evil that transpire happen only and only with the Precise Will and Permission of the Lord Most Majestic Who Created.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
