One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

can husband and wife masterbate themselves while witheach other and sexually aroused.and due to some resaon can`t do actual sexual act.....i have heard that husband and wife can masterbate each other but can they masterbate their selves in presence of each other and sexually aroused by each other...?

Answer:

What can husband wife do when no sex

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 222-223:

222    They ask thee concerning women's courses.  Say: ‘They are a hurt and a pollution; so keep away from women in their courses and do not approach them until they are clean.  But when they have purified themselves ye may approach them in any manner time or place ordained for you by Allah.  For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.’

223    Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will.  But do some good act for your souls beforehand; and fear Allah and know that ye are to meet Him (in the Hereafter) and give (these) good tidings to those who believe.

Islam has allowed the husband and the wife in marriage every possible liberty to enjoy conjugal relations with each other, except three:

1. It is strictly prohibited to penetrate or have actual sexual intercourse with one’s wife during her period of menstruation.
2. It is strictly prohibited to enter the woman through her anus.
3. Although there is no specific prohibition mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah, the majority of the scholars in Islam have voiced their opinion against ‘oral’ sex, whereby one touches the other’s private organs with their mouth.

Other than the above three restrictions, one may enjoy conjugal relations with one’s wife any place, any time, and any how their heart’s desire.

Even when the wife is experiencing her monthly courses or during her post-child birth menstruation, there is absolutely no harm if the couple enjoy each other’s company without performing the actual act of sexual intercourse.

Masruq ibn al-Ajda' asked 'Aishah, "What is off limits to me sexually during my wife's menstruation?"  She said, "Nothing, except the vagina."

Since there is no prohibition mentioned in the Quran or the Sunnah regarding the matter concerned, there is absolutely no harm or restriction if the husband and/or wife wish to enjoy their relations with each other by reaching their climax themselves in the presence of their spouse.

Thus in general, other than the three restrictions listed above, there is absolute liberty and permissibility in Islam between the married couple to enjoy physical relations with each other any which way they desire.

Abu Dhar al-Ghafari reported: ‘The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: “there is a reward for you [even] in sex with your wife."’ The companions asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah (saws) is there a reward if one satisfies his passion?" He (saws) said: "Do you know that if he satisfies it unlawfully he has taken a sin upon himself?  Likewise, if he satisfies it lawfully, he is rewarded."
