Answer:

Is the Quran of Shia and Sunni different?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your question: Does the mention of Qur`anic ayat being subjected to abrogation-nasikh-or being mansukh-mean it is true that ayat have been omitted from the Quran?

The Glorious Quran that we have amongst us today is exactly the same that was revealed to the Prophet Mohamed (saws). There is absolutely no change in the Holy Quran, not even of one alphabet! Nothing has or can be removed from the Quran; nor has or can anything be added to the Divine Text of the Holy Quran.

The aayahs that have been abrogated are included in the Quran that we have amongst us today. Nothing, absolutely nothing has been added or removed from the Glorious Quran since its inception. Allah Subhanah is the One Who Revealed the Glorious Quran, and it is He Who has guaranteed to safeguard the Quran against any corruption whatsoever.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 15 Surah Al Hijr verse 9:It is We (Allah), Who has sent down this Quran, and We will assuredly guard it against corruption.

Your question: Is the Quran used by Shi`ites any different from the Quran used by Sunnis.

The Holy Quran which is present today amongst the believers, no matter what sect of Islam they claim to belong to… is exactly the same. There is absolutely no change in the Divine Text of the Holy Quran, whether it is used by those who call themselves Shias, or those who call themselves Sunnis!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
