Marry non-muslim

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Salam brother,
I have a question in my mind. Since we live in heterogeneous society, we tend to have feelings and inclination towards others. If a girl is very much in love with a guy from other religion. Can it be possible to get married in the muslim law. The girl will retain her religious value and
the offspring will be left to their choices to  follow their own knowledge of religion.

Adding to that all that Presence of GOD it is omnipresent. He has created all of us in a same way and sees nothing in a discriminated way. I know and must confess that people get wayward and do some undo things which non-religion will give shelter to it.

If the same girl retains her Islamic value and gets married the guy, what will be the result?
If God is for all, and without his knowledge nothing, not even a leaf moves then meeting of these innocent guys would not have been possible. If God has made them together irrespective of all odds and constrain, is not it that we should hear and try to listen the voice of God. What is wrong if the guy is nice and believes in GOD and does right thing, loves all, takes care of his responsibilities.

If we restrict others to the extend of hatred then perhaps people will go far from our Islamic religious value. They will probably not consider understanding Islam. There are many instances of muslim guy marring to a person in other religion.THat means God does not like them.We have know about "Gayeb" it is only GOD I don't know as how to proceed and carry on this.

I would like to hear from you.

A person in despair.

Answer:

Marry non-muslim

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 59: With Him are the keys of the Unseen the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry, but is (inscribed) in a Record Clear.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 11 Surah Hud verse 5: Behold! They fold up their hearts that they may lie hid from Him! Ah! Even when they cover themselves with their garments He knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal: for He Knoweth well the (inmost secrets) of the hearts.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 67 Surah Mulk verses 13-14:

13 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge of the secrets of (all) hearts.

14 Should He not know? He, that created? And He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with all things).

There is absolutely no doubt that whatever happens on the earth and the heavens, happens with the Permission and Knowledge of Allah Subhanah! Regardless of whether the deed is good or evil, nothing, absolutely nothing, happens without the Permission of Allah Subhanah! And the reason Allah Subhanah permits the evil to happen, is because that is precisely the test He has ordained for mankind!

Allah says in the Holy Quran in Chapter 67 Surah Al Mulk verse 2: He (Allah) created death and life that He may test you, to see which of you is the best in deeds.

If one intends to do good, it will only happen with Allah’s Permission; and Allah will be pleased with the person who does good. And if one intends to do evil, it will only happen with the Permission and Will of Allah Subhanah; but Allah will not be pleased with the one who does evil!

For example: If a thief steals something, or a murderer kills a person without right; and then uses the excuse that it only happened because Allah allowed it….would we accept this excuse from them for their sins and crimes???

He, for a limited time of one life, has put man to a test and allowed him a free will to do as he chooses; but Allah is pleased only with those who do good, and displeased with those who commit evil. Allah Subhanah could very well put an end to the evil and never allow it to happen, but then that would defeat the purpose of the ‘free will’ and the test ordained by Allah Subhanah.

Allah Subhanah has not forced anyone to accept Islam as their way of life! Allah has bestowed man with intelligence and a free will to choose the path of life he wants to live.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 256: Let there be no compulsion in (choosing) religion. Truth stands out clear from error; whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verse 29: Proclaim, “This (Quran) is the Truth from your Lord: now whosoever wills may accept it, and whosoever wills may reject it.” (As for those who reject it) We have prepared for such workers of iniquity a fire whose flames have encircled them. There, if they ask for water , they will be given a drink like the dregs of oil, which will burn their mouths! What an evil drink, and what an evil abode!

If one has confessed, of one’s own free will, to enter the fold of Islam, and lives and enjoys the rights that are due to muslims; then it is obligatory on the person to follow the Laws and Commands that are ordained upon the muslims by their Lord!

Even in the most ‘free’ nations of the world today, one may of one’s own free will and choice, join the army or any company and avail of the benefits offered by the organization to its members. But it would not be acceptable even in these ‘free’ nations, that a soldier refuses to obey the laws of the army and decides to wear shorts and funky tshirts, or choose his own hair style, or come in to work if and when he wills!!! He would be thrown out of the army in no time for disobeying the laws and discipline of the organization!

Similarly, one is not forced to accepting Islam as their way of life; but if one wishes to live his/her life in submission to the Will of their Lord and Creator, and hopes that their Lord will accept their deeds and reward them with Paradise in the Hereafter; then it is absolutely incumbent upon this person to obey all the laws and commands of this All Powerful, All Mighty Lord of the Worlds!

The same Lord Who created the heavens and the earth has ordained that in His approved way of life for the believers in Al-Islam, it would be considered absolutely forbidden and prohibited for a believing woman to marry a non-believing man until he professes belief!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 221 (part): Likewise, do not wed your women to ‘mushrik’ men, unless they believe…..These ‘mushriks’ invite you to the Fire while Allah, by His Grace, invites you to the Gardens and His Pardon.

It is prohibited and ‘haraam’ for a believing woman to marry anyone who is not a believer. If she does so, she will be disobeying a direct command of Allah Subhanah, and will be held severely accountable for her deeds in the Court of Allah on the Day of Judgment.

If a believing woman indeed marries any ‘mushrik’ or pagan man, that marriage will not be valid in the sight of Shariah or Islamic Law, and in the sight of Allah Subhanah. She will be living in a state of sin for all her life, and her accounting in the Court of Allah on the Day of Recompense will be very severe and dreadful indeed.

Allah Subhanah, in the above quoted aayah of Surah Baqarah says that ‘these ‘mushriks’ invite you to the Fire, while Allah, by His Grace, invites the believers to the Gardens and His Pardon!’

The believing girl who chooses to disobey the direct Command of her Creator, chooses the Fire, rather than the Mercy, Grace, and Pardon of her Merciful Lord, and the Gardens of Paradise!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
