One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamu Alaikum Brother Burhan,
May Allah reward you and all responsible for making this forum a useful one.

My question is : They say that if we perform 4 rakahs after luhr saying Ayuthul Kursi 7 times and SurahKausar 15 times in every rakah on the last friday on the month of Ramadan(its called umre kala prayers) and if those prayers are accepted by Allah its like we have made up for our missed prayers throught these years and that those sins will be forgiven. Is there any hadith or Quranic verse relating to this? I would be grateful if you colud answer it as soon as possible.
Thank You
Ur well wisher in Islam

Answer:

Last Friday in Ramadhan

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There is absolutely no evidence in the Quran or Sunnah regarding the so called ‘umre-kala’ prayers! No man who ever walked on this planet earth worshipped and feared Allah Subhanah more than the person of the Noble Messenger of Allah (saws); and he (saws) never offered these prayers!

There is absolutely no special prayers on the last Friday of Ramdan, and the believers who sincerely believe in Allah and the Last Day, must abstain from doing anything in the worship of Allah Subhanah which was not done or approved by the Messenger of Allah (saws).

And when these ‘special’ prayers are not done or approved by the Messenger of Allah (saws); then it has to be the invention and innovation of some man who has absolutely no authority from Allah Subhanah; and all such innovations must be rejected by the believers.

It has been reported in an authentic narration that the Prophet of Allah (saws) said: “Whoever introduces a ‘bida’ (innovation) in this deen brought by me (saws), it will be rejected.”

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4515 Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib

That the Prophet of Allah (saws) said: “If anyone introduces an innovation (in religion), he will be responsible for it. If anyone introduces an innovation or gives shelter to a man who introduces an innovation (in religion), he is cursed by Allah, by His angels, and by all the people.”

Sahih Muslim Hadith 1885 Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

That the Prophet of Allah (saws) said in a sermon: “The best speech is that which is embodied in the Book of Allah, the Al Quran; and the best guidance is the guidance given by me, Mohamed (saws). The most evil affairs are the innovations, and every innovation is an error.”

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
