One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Is it ok if i take a TB jab in school?i know that it breaks your fast but is it allowed to not fast on that day and keep it later on since this is likE a medical matter?

Answer:

Injection break fast or not

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There are five things which will break or invalidate the fast:

Eating

Drinking

Sexual intercourse

voluntary semen discharge

the menstruation of the woman while fasting

The taking of the ‘jab’ or injection does not have any bearings on the validity of the fast. Thus keep the fast, and take the injection, and continue the fast; for the fast is absolutely valid and the taking of injections does not invalidate the fast in any way.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
