Why do the Bohras avoid the Jumuah Khutbah?

Untitled document

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamualaikum,

You already told me about "Friday Prayer", but what I still do not understand is why "The only people who do not follow this tradition of Jumuah 'khutba' followed by prayers,  and pray the regular 'zuhr' prayers are the community of Dawoodi Bohras,  for reasons best known to their scholars and leaders.

You told me before that muslims people have to pray the "Friday prayer" but why does Dawoodiibohran people doesn't follow what Allah tell to do.  From my knowledge that, if 3 times in a row that muslims people do not go to the mosque on friday for "friday prayer" (not zuhr), then they are Kafir. So thats mean Dawoodiibohra doesn't do the right thing.

Ok thank you,

Assalamualaikum

Answer:

Why do the Bohras avoid the Jumuah Khutbah?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,  no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your comment: What I still do not understand is why "The only people who do not follow this tradition of Jumuah 'khutba' followed by prayers,  and pray the regular 'zuhr' prayers are the community of Dawoodi Bohras,  for reasons best known to their scholars and leaders.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 62 Surah Jumuah verse 9: O you who have believed!  When the call is made to the Prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off your trading.   This is better for you, only if you know.

The best and only reason (that I can think of why) the Dawoodi Bohras do not pray the Jumuah Prayers, as commanded by Allah Subhanah and practiced by the Messenger of Allah (saws) and all the believers, is that instead of deriving their Islam from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger (saws), the Bohras drive their deen from their priests!  If their high priest had ordered them to pray the Jumuah prayers, they would have prayed.   And because their high priest has ordered them not to pray the Jumuah prayers, the followers do not pray; regardless of what are the commands and teachings of Allah and His Messenger, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws).

Allah is the One Who Created everything in existence, including us, the Bohras, and their high-priest!  Only Allah has the Right that He should be obeyed Unconditionally!   May Allah guide them to the True deen of Islam!

Your Comment: From my knowledge that, if 3 times in a row that muslims people do not go to the mosque on friday for "friday prayer" (not zuhr), then they are Kafir. So thats mean Dawoodiibohra doesn't do the right thing.

The correct narration from the Messenger of Allah (saws) is that if a believer does not attend three Friday prayers without a valid excuse, Allah puts a stamp or seal on his heart.

Your Question: So thats mean Dawoodiibohra doesn't do the right thing.

Jumuah prayers are obligatory, and that time of the day is dedicated to the gathering and remembrance of the our Lord and Creator, Allah Subhanah.  It is a clear command of Allah in the Glorious Quran, and a practice of the Messenger of Allah (saws), his noble ‘ahle-bayt’, his noble companions, and all the true believers.    If some sects do not pray the Jumuah prayers as practiced by the Messenger of Allah (saws), they are obviously and clearly dis-obeying the command and guidance of Allah and His Messenger (saws).  What has happened over the years, is that the leaders of some mis-guided sects have changed quite a few practices to prove their differences and segregate themselves from the Muslim Ummah; without any authority from Allah and His Messenger (saws).

Allah is enough as a Reckoner for the people who disobey Him and His Messenger (saws).   From Allah we have all come, and to Allah is our ultimate return.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan

Subject: Question on salaat taraweh and pork

Dear Burhan,

Asalaam Aleikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

If one is in a place where pork is eaten regularly, what should one do if you are not sure whether the meat is separated or is cooked in the same saucepans or different ones? Should someone not eat the meat at all? what does islam say about it? Also being a non-muslim dominated area one is not sure whether the cows, chicken are slaughtered by a muslim or not, what should one do, stop eating the meat completely?

Can one pray salaat taraweh in Ramadhan using the short surahs of Juzu Ama everyday for lack of ability to recite other surahs or it is obligatory to read the other surahs too?

Thank you for your help.

Regards

Zainab
